It’s been a month since my last update

Well before I share about earning the 1st dollar from the internet, Let’s me provide some update about my site first.

It’s been a month since my last blog post. I was busy with many things in life which result in lesser time to write anything on my blog.

For the past month, I am busy with many things.

Usually, I slept at 1am and work at 6.30am daily.

I have to squeeze my time into the various items below:

  • Peak Period for Work with struggle of daily life with two kids. Woke up at 6.30am, prepare them to go school, then 830am start work, non-stop (no time for breakfast, then about 10minute lunch) before picking my primary school kid at 1.30pm, then rush back to work again, then pick the other kid at around 5pm, then work while prepare dinner, spent time with family till 11pm after they sleep, then finally some me time till 1am.
  • New House Renovation. I just got the key from my BTO. Yes, the recent CCS Tengah BTO and result in so much news and stories. I am also one of them who took up CCS, well so far, no issue after stress test for a day. Cross finger. Renovation is not cheap; shall I share something about renovation in future article?
  • Investment – Reits are dying (based on what many people said), heavy paper loss but with dividend Panadol. My portfolio also down but isn’t the interest rate uncertainty that makes the shares goes down and makes it lesser risk. Isn’t this the best time to buy when people are fearful? Didn’t many hope for Areit to be $2.50 as they have missed the COVID crash? It’s here now. Stock market is weird, people like to buy when it goes up, many are rushing to buy banks now while it is high. Anyway, I leave this for another update post on investment later.
  • Trading – Crypto. Airdrop. Recently I got two airdrops but quickly sold them off as the Crypto Market undergo a bear correction within bull. Earned about 2k usd+ in progress.

As usual, I would like to be transparent to all.

I just got my first payout of $20+ after running Ezoic since Nov 2023 last year. 6 months efforts for writing 2-3 articles per week?

I started this site using wordpress.com on 5 April 2022 with the main objective to share about cryptocurrency (you can refer to my first post).

Slowly as my site grows further, I have moved from wordpress.com to wordpress.org on 28 November 2022.

To run site, I need to pay for hosting fee, domain fee etc and of course with the efforts of writing articles.

Before this I am also running Google Adsense (so far only has around $100 sgd earnings, not yet cashout, treshold is $150. This value has not been going up since I added Ezoic. Not sure why). I have shared something on Google Adsense earlier.

WRITING and running a site with the Aim of earning money is not easy. Many efforts and perhaps with much little returns.

An article could take hours to write, but if no one read and not much ad income, quite sad right?

Hence, slowly for 2nd Q year I started to be lazy, instead of keep writing non-stop for 2-3 articles weekly, I will write only when I have inspiration, treat it more like a hobby and a journal for my future kids to read when they grow up.

To my surprise, actually I got $20+ today. Lol.

Eskimo eSim Review – best option for roaming

As mentioned in my past article on my recent overseas vacation, I was away overseas for a week. When we are overseas, it’s good that we can take the chance to cut ourselves off from the internet and truly take a break. It’s the best time to Ditch your mobile phone to build real life.

However, unavoidably, we still need some internet access to navigate, talk to the transport companies which you have booked in advance in your home country before you leave for overseas etc. Many of us would think of using hotel wifi, hotpot wifi in airport for the access to save some roaming internet fees.

BUT I STRONGLY ADVISE against it. HOTEL WIFI is open is not safe. Hackers can easily hack and take control of the information sent via the network.

Even the WIFI provider can see what information that you have sent across. Do you feel safe to let some ulu accommodation owner to your password userID of your banking accounts?

There are many stories of scams, money loss due to accidental clicking of some strange website link etc. The next best option would be the using the local telco secured 4G/5G network.

My previous option

For the last few vacations, I am using MY REPUBLIC sim only. To add on roaming, it would cost me $6 per 1g for 30 days! Usually, I aim to cut myself from the world during any vacation in order to fully recharge myself, hence I usually have data leftover every time I went for any short trip, especially to Malaysia. What a waste!

Side Hustle Review – update on how much I have earned after 7 months – Rakuten Insight Surveys

For transparency and responsibility to my readers, let me provide some updates regarding this side hustle.

For those who heard of this for the first time, let me share a little more again.

Rakuten Insight Surveys is a survey website that pays you to complete surveys. You can earn money by completing surveys on your phone or computer, and there are plenty of them available! I started this survey side gig few months ago around Nov 2023. There are a couple of surveys every few days after you have created your profile.

With a little effort, you can start earning money simply by sharing your opinions. I’m going to share my experiences with you, explain what I’ve seen and how much I have earned so far from using Rakuten Insight Surveys.

It’s easy to use and I have never had any problems with it. You can set up your account in just a few minutes, and then they send you surveys through email that you answer within 24 hours (or they will send you another one). The surveys take only 5-10 minutes of your time, but do they pay well?

About Rakuten Insight Surveys – How much I have earned after 7 months?

Sad to say, the earnings start to dip after the 7th month.

In my previous post, I have updated that I have earned about $100 by End May 2023. Screen shots below again for easy references.

As of today 2 July 2023, I only have 67 points left (75 points = S5), hence it seems like I will only be getting $5 for the month of Aug 2023.

Nowadays I seem to be getting less and less surveys each day, thus less earnings. Quite likely, I will get very little for Aug 2023. Is the economy slowing down, that’s why companies pay less each day?
